Sam Vargas

Sam Vargas is a freelance photographer and videographer based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Using his Sony Alpha 7 IV and Sony Alpha 7R III he takes wonderful photographs, focusing mainly on portraiture and street photography. He’s recently began sharing behind the scenes videos of his shoots on his YouTube Channel. We love this gladiator shoot below where he used his Sony 85mm f/1.8. What’s great about his videos is the voiceovers that really allow the viewers to hear his thought process behind each shot. 

Ryan Pernofski

Ryan Pernofski is an underwater photographer and videographer. In his YouTube videos, he takes the viewer into the ocean with him while he photographs seascapes and waves on his Sony Alpha 7R IV in Aquatech Housing. He uses the “POV (point of view)” technique, so the viewer feels they are in Pernofski’s spot, experiencing exactly what he’s experiencing. He also includes the resulting images in the videos!

Peter Lindgren

Photographer and filmmaker Peter Lindgren has found huge success on YouTube. His videos are typically about photography, videography, or editing but he does occasionally make vlogs and or gear review videos. This vlog below is of a trip he took to Switzerland. We love seeing him traveling around and learning about his adventures. This was filmed on the Sony Alpha 7S III and he took some fantastic footage.

Mike Smith

Mike Smith is a landscape photographer who films on-location videos every week. Smith takes his viewers into the field with him to see how his shoots go and learn tips and tricks from real-life situations. We love this quote at the start of the video below where Smith states, “that anticipation…is almost better to me than taking the actual shot.” In this video, Smith goes on a sunrise hike to photograph a sweeping view from the peak of a mountain with his Sony Alpha 7 IV. 

Danny Gevirtz

Danny Gevirtz is a director and cinematographer who makes YouTube videos showcasing all the work that goes on behind the making of films. He breaks down storyboarding, gear, selecting music, post production, and much more on his channel. The videos below show the making of a short commercial and the resulting commercial itself. Gevirtz shot this on the Sony FX3 - and we love this little narrative commercial he created!
