Camera
Sony Alpha 1: The Sony Alpha 1 is easily the best camera I’ve ever had. This camera can truly do it all and I’ve been so happy with its performance throughout every challenging shooting situation I’ve thrown at it. This camera excels in both photos and videos and is unbelievably fast. The lightning fast autofocus along with the ability to take 30 frames per second has really elevated my workflow and given me even more confidence shooting in the field. It’s an absolute beast of a camera.

Xperia
Sony Xperia 1 IV: The Xperia is the perfect addition to my Sony Alpha kit. I love that I’m able to capture high quality content with a device I have in my pocket while still enjoying the present moment. I never have to worry about sacrificing image and video quality and can keep my pack as minimal as possible thanks to the compact and lightweight nature of the phone. The impressive photo and video capabilities of this phone make it a great tool for me to create content on the go.

Lenses
Sony 16-35mm f/2.8 G Master: This is hands down my favorite lens for landscape photography. I shoot a lot of landscapes and having that wide field of view is essential when capturing vast natural landscapes. It’s also super lightweight and pairs perfectly with the Alpha 1 to make a high quality yet compact setup.

Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master: If I could only carry one lens with me, it would definitely be this one. It’s one of my favorite lenses because its wide focal length range makes it super versatile so I can use it in almost any shooting situation. It also does great in low light which is a huge bonus.

Sony 35mm f/1.4 G Master: I love using prime lenses because they allow me to have so much more creative control over my images by really focusing on my subject while the background is full of buttery bokeh. Packing light when I travel is also super important for me and the compact size of prime lenses is hard to pass up. The fact that they tend to offer wider maximum apertures so you can have more freedom when shooting images and videos in low light conditions is also a huge plus. It’s definitely my go to lens whenever I’m taking photos of my puppy, Levi (@heylildood).

Accessories
DJI Osmo Mobile 6: This compact and lightweight gimbal is perfect for capturing high quality videos on the Xperia 1 IV. It’s super easy to use and it’s very affordable which is a plus. I’ve been using it on all of my trips to get smooth video clips on the go and it works great as a tripod and selfie stick too.
Sony Z Batteries: These batteries from Sony have great battery life so I usually only carry 2 batteries with me on a shoot. I can go days before I need to charge sometimes depending on what I’m shooting. I’ve been in situations where I’ve shot in -58 degrees F and the battery life was still great.
Polar Pro Circular Polarizer Filters: A circular polarizer is essential for midday shooting to cut glare and add richness to your colors. Another situation where I almost always carry a circular polarizer is when I’m shooting a vehicle. You need this filter in order to cut any unwanted glare and reflections.

Giottos Rocket Air Blaster: It’s important to take care of your gear so I always carry this with me to remove dust and debris from my camera, lenses and filters whenever I’m on the go. It weighs practically nothing and a pristine sensor saves a ton of time while editing.
Anker Portable Charger: This compact charger is perfect for my lightweight kit and really comes in handy when I’m in a situation where my phone battery is running low. Sometimes I’m out shooting all day and it’s been a lifesaver many times in the past.
