What’s In My Jeep: See This Travel, Adventure & Landscape Photographer's Off-The-Road Kit

Rohit Gomashe (@gomzzzzzzzzzz) is a self-taught nomadic adventure landscape and travel content creator. While many landscape photographers focus on well-known tourist spots, he prefers exploring and capturing lesser-known, unexplored locations from unique perspectives. This often involves extensive off-roading in deserts or, for example, traveling across multiple states to capture peak fall season pictures in distinctive settings. Balancing a remote Software Engineering job, he lives out of his modified overlanding Jeep, equipped with camping gear and a kitchen, when on the road. His journey in photography began at age 8, learning from his mom with a Kodak film camera. Since arriving in the USA for further education in 2014, he's saved for his first mirrorless camera, and he has been shooting with Sony gear since 2018.

Sony Alpha 7R III: The Sony Alpha 7R III is my top pick for landscape photography in the mirrorless camera market because of its super lightweight design, perfect for my hiking and outdoor adventures. The 42.4-megapixel full-frame sensor, gives me unparalleled image resolution, ideal for capturing vast landscapes with stunning clarity.

Sony FX3: I recently purchased the Sony FX3 cinema camera because of its amazing features and high demand from clients and brands for high-quality videos for their commercials. I am also starting a YouTube channel to document my 'living out of jeep' journey, and having the FX3 as my main video camera makes a whole difference. It records videos with rich colors and flexibility using its 4:2:2 10-bit recording. It's so much fun to shoot in S-Log profiles and color grade according to the mood in post-production. Even in low light, it captures clear footage with its big sensor and dual base ISO. Plus, its stabilization system keeps the video steady for precise shots. It's small and light, perfect for outdoor filming, making it ideal for top-quality footage in any environment.

I am planning to use the Sony FX3 as my backup photo camera as well when my primary Sony Alpha 7R III is occupied with taking timelapses.
