What's In My Bag: See This Travel Content Creator's Super-Simple, Full-Frame Sony Alpha Kit

She gives us a look at what's in her bag and how she uses her Sony Alpha 7C, a pair of Sony zooms and a Sony microphone to create her dynamic content.

Camera

Sony Alpha 7C: I’ve had several Sony cameras over the years, including the Alpha 7S II, the Alpha 7 III, the Alpha 6400, as well as a few versions of the RX100. The Alpha 7C became my favourite one to use as someone who travels a lot and appreciates a small kit. Even though it’s small, the full frame sensor gives me amazing lowlight performance since I shoot in such a variety of conditions. Some of the features I value the most are the IBIS which helps to get smooth handheld footage, the reliable autofocus, and the great battery life. I love that the 24MP sensor can crop into APS-C mode even in 4k, so I can get an extra 1.5x reach with whatever lens I have attached.

Lenses

Sony 24-70mm f/4: I’ve had this lens for many years, traveled around the world a few times with it, and it’s never let me down. I like the 24-70mm range for general purpose work, and I prefer the smaller size and lighter weight of this lens. Even though most of my Sony cameras have had IBIS, the SteadyShot built into the lens helps a lot when i’m shooting handheld video.

Sony 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 G Master: I borrowed this lens a few years ago for a trip to Africa and I was so blown away by the quality and versatility that I decided to get one to keep. It’s was such a good focal range for the safari that I went on, but I was also surprised at how much I loved it for landscapes. The image quality is stunning, the pictures are super sharp, and I appreciate that it’s fairly compact when it’s packed in my bag.

Accessories

Sony ECM-B10 Microphone: I’ve used a lot of microphones over the years and this is by far my favorite. The sound quality is amazing and it has so many great features such as a low-cut filter, selectable pickup patters, and an audio level knob for quickly setting my levels. And since it uses the MI shoe on my Sony cameras I never have to plug in a mic cable or worry about battery life.

Wandrd PRVKE 21L Backpack: It has a dedicated camera cube with quick access, a padded laptop sleeve, and an expandable roll top for when my adventures require more gear.

PolarPro 2-5 Stop Variable ND Filter: Variable NDs are a must-have when filming video or taking photos with longer exposures. This one never leaves my camera bag.

Peak Design Slide Strap: You can change the length or even remove it in a matter of seconds.

Anker Portable Charger: When I’m on a long flight, exploring a city, or going for a hike, I always have this battery bank to keep my camera or phone charged up.

Giottos Rocket Air Blaster: Filming in so many locations and conditions means I’m often cleaning dust off my lenses.
