Senior portrait and sports photographer Matt Hernandez is well known for creating flawless portraits using his Sony gear and Westcott lights. His Instagram account is fun to scroll through because you get to see his stunning images and many behind the scenes clips. This really showcases how well Hernandez uses artificial light to capture motion and tell a story. For example, in the image below, he has used off camera flash to photograph the golfer and it adds a dramatic element to the image. Matt shoots with the Sony Alpha 1 and Sony Alpha 7R V

Grace Alivia Hollars – @_gracehollars

Grace Hollars is a visual journalist for the Indianapolis Star — USA Today Network. As a journalist, she photographs a wide variety of subjects, but she is particularly skilled when it comes to sports photography. The images below showcase her ability to capture emotional moments in the game. Check out her account and be sure to give her a follow.

Thearon Henderson – @thearonhenderson

Thearon Henderson is a freelance sports photographer who often works on contract with Getty Images. Henderson has a magic ability to photograph action. Sometimes he does this by freezing motion at the perfect instant and other times he utilizes motion blur. Of course, this skill is critical to sports photographers - but Henderson seems to have mastered it beautifully. We love the video he put together below from photographs made with his Sony Alpha 1 and Sony 70-200 G Master II – it really shows the power of the high frame rate in the Sony Alpha 1.

Andy Kuno – @punkpoint

For many sports photographers, being an official photographer for a team is the dream. Andy Kuno is living that dream as the team photographer for the San Francisco Giants. In this role, he is able to capture special moments on the field, in the locker room, and in between. We love this shot taken with the Sony Alpha 1 and the Sony 400mm f/2.8 G Master.
